Time Activity
PART II
15:00-16:45

Session 3: World café exchange with the GEF and its implementing agencies

Roundtable Group Work (60min): Participants will engage in a structured dialogue with the GEF  and its implementing agencies, as appropriate, with a view to exploring opportunities for further simplifying and streamlining the process that enables Parties to access resources for preparing their BTRs, including by enabling them to access resources for two BTRs and/or a national communication as part of the same enabling activity and raising the threshold for expedited approvals.

Mixed tables with representatives of:

  • Parties
  • GEF and its implementing agencies
  • CGE and other transparency support partners

Possible focus areas:

  • Simplifying and streamlining the process to access resources
  • Programmatic approaches (e.g. multi-BTR and/or NC support)
  • Threshold and procedures for expedited approvals

Guiding questions:

  • What barriers exist in accessing GEF support?
  • How can processes be streamlined and simplified further?
  • What concrete improvements are feasible and over what timeframe?

Plenary Discussion (45min): Report-backs by the rapporteurs of each group, including any additional reflections from participants.

16:45-17:45

Session 4: Plenary discussion

Participants will be invited to reflect on and discuss key takeaways from the event, as well as any additional matters related to the provision of support and capacity-building for the implementation of Article 13 of the Paris Agreement pertinent to this mandated event.
