This document provides an update on the extent to which the UNFCCC core budget and project budgets in the UNFCCC trust fund for supplementary activities were funded as at 31 December 2025. The UNFCCC core budget for the biennium 2024–2025, totalling EUR 74.1 million, was fully funded. In contrast, the UNFCCC trust fund for supplementary activities, which has a biennial budget of EUR 215.6 million for projects, had received only EUR 130.2 million, or 60 per cent, of its total. The distribution of this funding has been inconsistent, with some projects receiving their full allocation from voluntary contributions and others receiving none of their allocation. Overall, in contrast to the core budget, the trust fund for supplementary activities has remained significantly underfunded, limiting available support for many important initiatives.
