Background
Organized by the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS) and the Academy of International Affairs (AIA), this webinar will explore how innovative and AI-enabled communication approaches can support the effective implementation of NDC and NAP priorities. It will strengthen participants’ understanding of the role of science and climate communication in translating policy priorities into messages that resonate with different audiences and encourage action.
The session will introduce practical, audience-centred tools and approaches for communicating climate priorities, while creating space for peer-to-peer learning and country-to-country exchange through real-world experiences and case studies.
The webinar will adopt an interactive and practice-oriented approach, enabling participants to apply the approaches discussed in their own contexts. Participants will have an opportunity to develop a draft communication approach for a selected NAP or NDC priority and identify opportunities for continued learning and collaboration.
Objectives
This virtual session will aim:
1. To strengthen participants’ understanding of the critical role of science communication in advancing effective NAP implementation.
2. To introduce practical, audience-centered communication tools and approaches that support the translation of NAP priorities into actionable messages.
3. To enable participants to design context-specific communication strategies that enhance the uptake and implementation of NAP priorities in their countries.
4. To facilitate peer-to-peer learning and country-to-country exchange through real-world case studies and experiences in NAP implementation.
